The Iraqi MoH had planned to establish a new facility comprising laboratories to facilitate testing for nutrition materials intended for human consumption, health screening, and testing for incoming residents.

Additionally, it was intended to offer services such as pre-marital testing, testing for food industry workers, and screening for communicable diseases such as TB (Tuberculosis). Alongside the laboratory facilities mentioned, the new facility was to include an administrative block and staff to oversee various public health programs, including those for Mother and Child health, Communicable and Non-Communicable Diseases, HIV/Viral Hepatitis/STDs, Nutrition, Health Inspection, Health Promotion, and Administration.
