The main goal of the project was to undertake supervisory consultancy engineering services, and conduct a design review process to check the adequacy and conformance of the original design within the Public Authority for Electricity and Water design guidelines, standards and material specifications for water supply systems.

The project involved supervising the construction of a pump station and a carbon steel transmission pipeline to transfer water from the reservoir at Qurayyat to Deem. It was awarded for construction on a design and build basis.

The new pump station is a fully automated forwarding facility with variable speed pumps, and the capacity to transfer up to 200 million litres of water per day.
